Do I need to know what I want before booking an aesthetic consultation?

No. You do not need to choose a treatment before booking an aesthetic consultation, and you do not need to be certain that you want treatment at all.

At Milner Aesthetics in Halesowen, your consultation is free. It is an opportunity to talk, ask questions and understand your options. Booking that conversation does not commit you to a procedure.

If you have been putting off an appointment because you feel you should arrive with a decision already made, you can let that expectation go.

What if I cannot explain exactly what is bothering me?

You can start with something as simple as “My skin feels different,” “I look more tired than I feel,” or “I am curious, but I am worried about looking different.”

You do not need clinical terminology or a list of treatments. My role is to help explore what you mean, rather than expect you to diagnose the concern or select the solution yourself.

We can discuss when you first noticed the change, how much it matters to you and what you would like to preserve. Sometimes understanding the concern more clearly is the most useful outcome of the appointment.

Can I come just to ask questions?

Yes. You might want to understand the difference between options, ask about risks or find out whether a concern is something I can help with. You may simply want to meet me and see whether you feel comfortable discussing it.

Questions about cost, discomfort, recovery or maintenance are welcome. So are questions about doing nothing.

You are not wasting my time by being uncertain. Helping you make an informed decision is the purpose of the consultation.

What will we talk about?

I will ask about what brought you here, your health, any previous treatment and your preferences. We will discuss your concerns and, where appropriate, assess them together.

If there are suitable options, I will explain what they might achieve, their limitations, risks and costs. If I think treatment would not be appropriate, I will explain why.

Personal service means that the conversation starts with you: your anatomy, beliefs, values and desires. A treatment that suits someone else may not suit your priorities, even if you describe a similar concern.

You can read more about what happens at a consultation before your appointment.

Will I be expected to have treatment that day?

No. Any treatment we agree on is arranged for a later appointment. That gives you time to think about the recommendation, consider the cost and decide whether it feels right for you.

You can go away, ask further questions or decide not to proceed. There is no obligation to book treatment after your free initial consultation.

What if the recommendation is no treatment?

That can be a worthwhile outcome too. Clinical confidence includes recommending no treatment when the likely benefit does not justify proceeding, or when the proposed change does not fit what you want to preserve.

I created Milner Aesthetics to bring careful clinical judgement and personal attention together. Understated luxury means room for a considered decision, with subtlety and individuality valued above keeping up with trends.

The aim of the consultation is for you to leave with a clearer understanding, not a feeling that you have to buy something.

How do I book if I am still unsure?

Simply book a free initial consultation. You can come with a specific concern, a few questions or an open mind. If it helps, jot down anything you would like to ask beforehand, but there is no need to come with a plan.
